Definitely! Martial arts teaches kids to be coordinated, flexible, and strong. Students who don’t have these qualities naturally will develop them through our training.
If you are doing a trial class, you will wear comfortable (workout-type) clothes. All classes are done barefoot. We have cubbies for you to keep your shoes, coat, etc. An instructor will greet you and show you around and introduce you to the other students. We understand that everything will be new, but just do your best and try the techniques. That’s how we all started our journey.
No need for nerves! Everyone is very welcoming, friendly, and encouraging. We are a big family and everyone is here to help each other.
Absolutely not! Martial arts is about peace and de-escalating situations long before the need for physical confrontation. Our programs give students the confidence to utilize those strategies, as well as the ability to physically defend themselves or others.
In our Super Kids 1 class (3 years old), they are still learning physical boundries and to not hit others, so they never do their kicks and punches at a person...they only hit targets and punching bags. Additionally, for younger students, we encourage parents to use the martial art belt as a tool. For example, you may establish a home rule that your child may only practice while wearing their belt. This creates a very concrete sign for all involved.
